MAKCO provides highway W-Beam guardrail installation and repair throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. We are also licensed in North Carolina and Pennsylvania. Steel Back Timber Rail is a tested and approved wooden system for lower speed primary and secondary roadways. It is primarily used in the National Park System for aesthetic purposes. There are also untested options available for installation on private streets or in private parking lots.
A roadside or median barrier consisting of three or four cables tensioned between two concrete anchors. These systems contain errant vehicles through lateral forces created by the tension in the cables which gradually redirect the vehicle. Typically, these systems are utilized in a median barrier configuration to prevent cross-median head on collisions.
These units are designed to collapse and absorb the kinetic energy of a vehicle bringing it to a controlled stop in a short distance. These units are generally installed to protect fixed objects such as bridge parapets or piers, concrete barriers, sign structures, and toll gates.
Roadway shoulders can change shape over time through pavement overlays, traffic, and erosion making the guardrail out of specification in height and/or soil backing behind the posts. MAKCO has the knowledge and equipment to repair and stabilize both stone aggregate and asphalt paved shoulders.
